Show me your kickpanels

the dude listened to 80's lol. the sub set up was to loud for him. (type e's are clean base...) we took that set up out and put alpine coponents. tried to get him to do better stuff but it sound awesome in such a small area and back speaker location. and i think it is a 70,000 lotus cause it is the super charged 07. pain in the butt to get in and out.

So if you didn't spend $1k on them, why boast that as their value? Im not impressed by msrp figures, sorry. And they certainly dont make you right.

As for the install you posted pics of, I dont see any fiberglass kicks. I dont see any fiberglass work at all in those pics. If Im missing them, feel free to point them out.

As for the fleece debate, I guess you are gonna make this tough on me. So be it...

"Fleece is necessary for most projects. I most often just use whatever fleece is cheapest at Walmart. The fleece is basically only going to be used to provide an initial backbone which the mat will add strength to, don't fall into the trap of thinking that fleece and resin alone is rigid or durable enough for much of anything." - http://www.explorerforum.com/fiberglass/fiberglassing.htm

"The fleece alone is nowhere near strong enough to be used as the final enclosure, so more fiberglass needs to be added for strength." - http://chris.pfharlock.com/glass/fleecing.htm

"The next thing to do is stretch fleece around the baffle and mold and make the shape that you want... After that dries then go and use a mat/resin mix and apply the mat to the inside of the pod. This is what will really give it its strength." - http://www.mcss383.com/howto_kicks.htm

There's 3 links I found quick that state what I consider obvious in fiberglass work, the strength is in the mat and layering, not in a single layer of fleece soaked in resin. Look at virtually any tutorial on building a speaker enclosure, they start with fleece to get the shape, then add layers of mat for strength. Honestly, with you doing this for a living, Im amazed we are having to have this discussion.

You can use just fleece but its not as tough as you said, ive never done it with just fleece and resin. me and my friend started building speaker box's and
have moved onto 1piece front ends for cars/trucks and other fiberglass stuff but there is a flexible fiberglass cloth you can use with just resin and it makes it way stronger its pretty expensive but its easy to use.
