Show me your lifted legal trucks

I really don't understand the need for testing and inspections anymore? Modern vehicles run like pure crap if a sensor goes bad so people fix them. 99% of the vehicles on the road are mostly stock. Seems like a waste of money to me. It's been over 20 years since I've owned a daily driver with a carb . We don't have inspections down here and can run whatever we want. The strange thing is you don't see a lot of older vehicles on the road people do cut cats off when they go bad but it's rare . A buddy of mine owns a exhaust shop and 90% of his work is repair and replace with stock style exhaust . I just don't see mass pollution being a problem enough to justify inspections. A modified z06 has to have better emissions or equal to a factory 84 Oldsmobile lol that no one drives lol

8" front, 10" rear on 39.5's. Sorta legal in Hawaii and oh so close on rear bumper height in Ohio. Drove in both places regularly and was only ever hassled once, but my dad got a ticket in Ohio once, LOL. Now perfectly legal in Alabama.

Mmmmoney! That's why it exists. I say for every electric car on the road we have a lotto for a smog/inspection exempt lifetime pass!

as a state inspection card holder I can say thank god for safety inspections .

when is the last time 98% of people looked at there brake pads / shoes / hoses / coil springs / bushings / and so on .

this is more of a problem up in the rust belts more so than the south and west .

and in ny state the main part ( not the city ) its 1996-newer plug in to obdII plug and computer check pass or fail .

I have seen some scary stuff in my day . . . and glad I could keep some off the roads !!!!

now lots of states with no inspections have laws if your in a accident and proved to be your lack of maintance / replace worn parts then you go for a long legal ride ! ! !

We have managed to handle things just fine without any form of inspections (and this is definitely the rust belt). And I don't hear endless numbers of stories about so-and-so causing an accident due to neglected maintenance. Why regulate something that hasn't been causing large numbers of actual, documented problems? :dunno:

I have never had a hold up for lifts or truck mods in Mass. They only worry about safety on the old stuff. They check for excess rot in the cab, horn, wipers, lights, plate light, front plate, and ball joints (sometimes). If you show up to the inspection station with all those things in working order and no major body damage I would say you are good. My Camaro has headers and no cat and they haven't ever even opened the hood. I even had a station put a tube in a tire for me when I had a major tear and slap it back on while giving me an inspection sticker. I really think most shops don't even know the rules.

Not that you should, but I've gone without inspections on trucks for long lengths of time. I've only ever seen people get ticketed if they park in an area with a parking attendant. I've never been stopped because of a sticker.

Do you have a sticker just for inspection? Or is this like our registration stickers that we put on our license plates to show that we paid our tax for the year?

My truck is barely legal for the state of Nevada. It has 9" of lift in the front, and 10" of lift in the back, with 35" tires. This puts my truck within 1" of being legal. I am going to put a set of 36/14.50/16 tires on it, wich will put me a max legal hight. I have seen trucks in Nevada that where outragously lifted (15" to 20" lift show trucks), and no law officer did anything about it. In places like Nevada, Arizona, and Utah law enforcement does not bother with enforcing lift laws anyway, Which is why I like it out here. California is run by a bunch of Communist, and the commisors will bust you in a minute for any truck they see a micro-agression form of racism.
