hey all im looking at a set of turbine rims on CL for my truck. i remember seeing them as a child and thinking they looked pretty good. the size they are is 15x8.5

does anyone have any pics of these on their truck that they would like to share?
thanks a ton

Here you go, 15x8.5, date coded 1976:D

that 1st pic has the yellow stripe in the trim, iirc, that was a 1 yr thing, i bet that's some rare trim...I've only noticed that on 5-6 trucks in person.

i like those wheels also...but the only 8 hole hurricanes i've ever seen were 16.5''...i'd like to find a set of 8 hole 16''ers in that style

I just love these wheels. My first legal truck (me being legal age to drive and the truck being fully registered) got a set about 2 weeks after I got it road worthy. It was a 2wd white 69 chevy short stepside. I sure miss that truck. I have no pics though.

Second on my all time fav wheels list where the bean hole mags, I dont know the name of them lol.

Wow, I just tossed 4 of these in the dumpster about a year ago. I couldn't find anyone that wanted them and never thought about asking around on here :doah:
One of the guys I work with pulled one of them back out and used it to build a base for a stand. They were in pretty good shape too.

dumpster??? what is it with you guys and throwing stuff out. if it's any kind of metal, you can at least scrap the stuff and get money. aluminum wheels are at least worth $10 each.

why would you throw them away, i would have at least sold them as scrap aluminum.

edit:yz beat me 2 the punch, what i get for being a slow typer

I check flea bay regularly for that type of wheel. Takes me back to the dukes of hazzard days, when everything still made sense. To me, at least...

my 2 sets of western wheels.

Sweetk30, the second set looks sweet. Are they suppoesed to have that finish on them, or would they clean up/polish up? I think they would look awesome with a nice polished aluminum finish.

Frankly, I felt my time was worth more than the $20 that I was quoted from the local recycler. They got moved around in my garage about a dozen times and I finally got sick of seeing them. I asked around and no one locally wanted them....so they went in the dumpster where I work.

yellow trim was 1977 only, or 1975 gmc gentlemen jim. The jim's also had a door speaker (4x10) that was unique to only 75 gmc gentlemen jim, but also offered in the 1980 model year. Kinda odd little options.

I love the look of a trubine. My 79 t top camaro had the 14" turbines, but i put the 5 spoke 80-81z28 n90s on there (prefer 15's)

Guy near my buddys old house had a mid 70s van with the turbines on it, 5x5 lug pattern, probably 15's.
