Just wanted to get an idea who will be going to Frank Raines on the 19th of May with us? If you are taking I-5 to get there then meet us between 0930 and 1000 hrs at the ARCO gas station off the Patterson exit. If you are taking Del Porto Canyon Road then meet us at the staging area inside the park and to the left at 1030 hrs. There is a $2 day use fee for entering the park. There is a little bit of everything there so don't be intimidated if you have a stock rig and if your rig is set-up then we'll hit the back trail for some rocker crunching!!

It's 17 miles from the nearest c-store so bring what you'll need for the day.

Hey GoldRush, well I hope too! But I just tore my D44 completely appart. Doin a gearswap and adding a Power-lok(front) so If all goes well I'll be done by then but I still need to put some brake in miles on them.......so I might just show up to say hello and keep the wheelin to a minimum until the miles get on the new R&P sets.......

I am going to try and make it . I also started a gears swap yesterday. I hope to have it done this coming weekend.......Dan

I only have 2wd at the moment... my front driveshaft is out. Should I even bother going? I'd love to just watch, do you think I can still make it around the trails in 2wd?

Absolutely, rod. there's a variety of terrain out there, you could bring a geo metro and have fun for a couple hours. trust me, whatever shape your rig is in, there will be stuff for you to wheel on.

Ahh they don't need breakin in!! I drove three hours at 90+ MPH to the races in Hanau the day after putting in my Front and rear ring and pinions. Then I raced and made it to the finals and took second place!! Just take your time and make sure they are set properly and no worries.

Can't wait to get all the rigs together again. There's nothin better than a bunch of Blazers wheelin in a group!

It's about 25 miles south of Tracy, California off of I-5. Tracy California is about 70 miles or so East of San Francisco. Are you gonna show up?

i put a new starter in so i am good to go this time...i am just worried about my tires...they are starting to look a little bald in the front...as long as i stay out of the mud i should be alright....i think my alignment is out kinda bad....my front tires are starting to cup and the outside is wearing kinda weird....could be cornering too fast too..=-)

the cupping on your front tires is because they only see braking forces. the only time they see acceleration force is when you're in 4WD. and even then, the loads are lower, and its for a day or so, maybe only a few hours.
as the tires wear, they wear quicker, with any irregularities (like cupping) becoming exaggerated over time.
the rear tires experience acceleration and deceleration forces, so they don't cup.
i learned that when i was on scoots all the time...

Well I'm having lots of trouble with Gold Rush this week. Front brakes have pressure going to them all the time. A couple of weeks ago the left front caliper was locked up. I changed both front calipers, front pads and turned the rotors. Now when I was changing tires this week I noticed my hubs were hotter than hell. The front wheels didn't want to turn by hand either. I cracked my bleeder screw on each caliper and it freed up. O.K. so that tells me it's a master cylinder, right? Wrong, I changed the master cylinder and still does it. While bleeding the system the rear screws open the brake pedal only goes halfway down. Then when bleeding the front the pedal goes to the floor but hardly any fluid comes out the bleeder. The only thing I can think of is maybe a proportioning valve, but after fifteen years of turning wrenches I've never changed a proportioning valve because it was internally bad.

Does anyone have any ideas?
