silverado seats in a first gen

I bought 2 buckets from a 2007 silverado, they are identical to my 2004 seats.

Does anybody have pics or have seen this setup in a first gen blazer.

It does't look like a big deal to mount, however there will be no recline with the rollbar.

I could switch the seats as it is the upper seatbelt mount that hits, but i want to put the flip seat center console in and i wounldn't be able to get to the seat adjust lever.

Any ideas?
 
Remove the integrated seatbelt mount and create the 3rd point off the cage instead???

hmmm, i bought these seat mainly for the intergrated seatbelts.
Its a thought but i dont think its the route i wanna go.

I hate the stock seatbelts in the blazer, everytime i go to get out the one piece of the seatbelt trys to go up my arse on the way down

I know ive seen a couple of rigs with this setup but now im starting to think they were pickups.
 
I've got a set of 1999 or so Silverado seats with the integrated belts in my 69 K20. I made some reinforcement plates that go above and under the floor to hopefully make them safe to use - there has been a lot of discussion over at 67-72chevytrucks about whether they can be used safely. Here is a link to a page on my website that shows what I did. Will of course be totally different in a K5 given the torsion boxes, but at least it will give you something to consider.

Think long and hard about the integrated seatbelt safety issue as undeniably these seats put forces on the floor differently since they do not tie into stock seat belt locatons.

wow! they look fantastic.

My plan was to use 1/4" re-inforcment plates under the body. Im not to concerned about safety with my plan. Im just having second thoughts about the seat themselves as they are quite a bit bigger and there will be no recline with the rollcage.

another issue is getting them to tilt forward for rear seat entry. they are quite a bit taller than what i had before and hit the roof as well.


BTW. your door panels look awesome!

They definitely are bigger, I would think that wouldn't be as much of an issue with a K5 if you could recline them back a bit. My problem is I have to keep them pretty far back and because they are so far back I have to keep the seat back straighter than I prefer. I'm 6' and anyone much taller would really dislike these seats IMO - they sit you up a little higher and definitely closer to the dash.

My seat backs (at least the passenger side for sure) do flip forward but of course that wouldn't aid in getting in the back seat of a K5 due to the bottom portion staying fixed.
 
Although super comfy, these kind of seats are often a tough 'fit' into our old trucks and as Yukon mentioned.

They'll put huge amounts of stress on the floor that our trucks were never designed for. (think can opener)

To me, a good set of off road suspension seats are a better option but since you already have these, here's another way to mount em being you already have a cage.

I've tried to run these seats in a truck and felt way to confined but totally loved em when I installed them in my burb I used as a DD for a year.

this all started when i was trying to do my body mounts and was pushing the pillar foraward (from my drivers seat) and broke my seat. After 4 months of asking everybody in the free world to identify these seats, no-one could so i went to the silverado buckets.

Well the silverado buckets are on C/L for sale and im going to repair and re-upolster these. They fit really well and i kinda like'um anyway.

BTW... I would still like to id these if anyone knows.

nope..... my very first car was a 510.

what were the seats like in a doge ramchager? anything like these?
