Hi guys,

I have a buddy who has bought but hasn't taken possession of a '70 K5. We were wondering if the trucks were originally outfitted with interior panels along the bedsides like the later models were.

If the answer is yes, did they lay against the lip of the bed rail (again like the later models) or did they rest against the inner edge of that lip?

Thanks in advance.

I think only the CST models had those. They screwed onto small brackets that are welded onto the inside of the bedrails.

Never seen em welded in, the factory set up used two screws with brackets shaped like this _/-\_ then 'L' brackets in the rear by the gate, with chrome trim rails along the bedsides.

I was only told that the brackets were spot welded to inside of the bed and that was how you could tell if you had a CST model. I've never actually seen the brackets themselves without the panels attached so I'll believe it.

Got a pic of those little buggers somewhere...
Rear bedside panels were spot welded to the bed floor though.

If it's a CST, it will have a chrome t-case shifter too.

Mine are attached with screws.
Here remove for some reason.
