205 or 208. Im interested in one of the BALTERBUILT skid plates but they say "One thing, these don't work with
a 700r4 that has a np208 case behind them, only trannies that have 205
cases. It will work with a 700r4 with a 205 case behind it as well."

So, not really sure which one I have under there.

If the case is aluminum, it can't be a 205. If it's cast iron, it can't be a 208. I'm not sure if the factory ever put an NP205 behind a 700R4, in any light truck, but if I had to lay money on it, I'd bet that it's a 208.

Mine is ALum. for sure. Oh well, guess that skidplate wont work, It was a sweet piece too.

they did i have seen them, mostly fleet trucks like hydro, you can get anything you want, where do you think AA got the piece to cast from?

The best way to tell what you have is to look at the t case it should have a1 1/2" steel tag rivited to it, it should say new process, and have a number stamped into it, 203, 205, 208, 241 ect
