What years and what model trucks did GM put the 12 bolt in? Thats all, thankyou.

They were in many trucks from the 60's to 82 .

The ones in Blazers from 69-72 have the one ton perch spacing . And the ones in 73-82 Blazers have the 3/4 ton perch spacing .

Some gearsets and yokes fit from cars , but basically the 12 bolt truck is entirely different .

best guesses...

I've seen them in 67-80 GM trucks, but they might have used them in older years too..I had several first generation (67-72) trucks with 12 bolt rear axles,my 79 C10 has one...someone else probably has the exact years listed in a GM book I bet...

Edit!--they used the 12 bolt in 1/2 ton trucks only,as far as I know..(C-10,K10,K5,)...

I hope your right deisel, im looking for exact years, i havent been able to find anything online though. Pauly how do you like running the 12 bolt? and what size tires are you running with it?

Some were 3/4 ton in the 60's and had six lugs on 2wd's , using the 12 bolt truck .

I love my 12 bolt , I run it locked with 10 bolt ( bigger , mine was a 73 2wd axle ) drum brakes . And the other one is locked with a 1350 yoke . I have 2 trucks .

I only run 33's for now . 35's on trail truck , but it hasn't driven yet .

I know a guy who broke some stock shafts doing crazy trails , after 20 something years of being in the axles . He runs Superiors now , and I don't think hes broken one :D

'64-82 is official years of the truck 12 bolts, trucks, blazers, burbs, 10 vans

most all under 5 and 10 series trucks however i know some of the old 20 series vans were 12 bolt til starting in 77 when the trucks blazers burbs also started going 10 bolt

good luck
