I must be having a brain freeze right now. I am replaceing my dist. cap and rotor but I can't remember if the insulator under the coil goes on top of the spark bushing or below it. Anybody?

Assuming we're talking about an HEI. The conductor goes in first then the rubber isolator then the coil on top of that.

Thanks your absolutely right, I just went to the manufacture's page and printed out the instructions for the coil. Now I can got back to work. That was fast folks, What a great resource we have here.

What I am doing is tracking down a funny idle problem. This morning I took my timing light and hooked up the inductive pickup to different plug wires to see if I was getting constant and reliable flash. I wasn't indicting some misses. So assuming the inductive pickup was working good, I have an electrical problem, so I am replacing dist. cap rotr and putting on my spare ignition module.

Plug wires are the biggest failure for what your description is.
