Well I was wanting to go dual exaust on the blazer, but got to thinking what about a single 3" exaust? anyone done it? happy? or should i go dual 2 1/2 exaust like I had on my shortbox with 3" flowmasters

Supposedly, the single 3" is the best performance vs torque on a 350. I've been doing a lot of research on the site lately for this and according to 4x4high this is the best.

I ended up going duals for ground clearance, but the guy mistakenly used 2 inch instead of 2.25. I gotta go back and have it re-done. I'm not sure I can tell the difference, but my motor is smaller than stock so maybe a 350 might be more noticable.

2 inch for torque is better anyway. Just get a discount for teh mistake and call it done.

BidBadChev I'd just go with the 2 1/2" dual and a crossover. Best sound and torque along with the air flow for HP.

I've said this many times in the past but i'll say it again. If you want to keep and or help low end torque then go with a single 3" exhaust system, if you want to give up some low end torque for some more top end HP then go with a 2 1/2" dual system. If it is being used as a truck and for offroad then TORQUE is what you want so based on that make your decision.

I have done single exhaust on all of my vehicles. Single 3" is about the same as dual 2.25" and single 3.5" is about the same as dual 2.5". I have done both: single 3" on a mild small block and single 3.5" on a stock big block. They both sounded way cool. Several people thought my small block was a big block because of the exhaust grumble. I used a three chamber 2.5" Flowmaster with the inlet and outlet cut back where they are 3" and mandrel bent tubing. On the 3.5" system I used a very large diesel muffler. That thing sounded Billy-bad-ass even with a stock peanut-port 454. I don't think I could be talked into doing a dual exhaust on anything again. Plus, there is the coolness factor of having one large pipe hanging out as opposed to two little ones.

I bought the 2-1/2" dual-system from LMC last year and have been quite happy with it, especially at that price. It is not very loud so if you want that you could get the glasspack option instead of turbo mufflers. Otherwise it is pretty nice with all mandrel-bent tubing and etc.
