Size of NP208 drain and fill plugs?

I swear I've checked the t-case fluid before on Big Ugly but I went to check today and can't find a wrench or socket to fit the check plug.

1" is too small, 1.25" is too big...



I also coulda sworn I asked this once on here but can't find it either...need to go to bed...time to get up in 4 hours...

If they're the same size as those on an NP241, it's metric, like 30mm or 33mm or something.

Screw it...if the f-ing thing falls off during the road trip tomorrow I'll put something better on there...


...it leaks from the rear pinion so I know there's at least that much fluid in there.

(Guess I never have checked it as I don't have a 30mm socket or wrench...wonder if I used an adjustable wrench...?)

Which is 30.1625 mm

I found that a crescent wrench didn't have enough grip, as the dang things were so low-profile... IIRC they're only like 1/8" thick, evil fasteners.

...did anyone ever actually figure this out?

I can't find a 31mm or 1-3/16" wrench for the life of me in town and they're pretty damn rare on eBay and online.

Meanwhile 30mm wrenches are everywhere...

...but I tried a 32mm and it seemed to me to be just too big, like 1mm or so...

My NP241 is also 30mm

If you have a harbor freight near you they have a 3/4 inch Metric socket set that includes that bolt size.
