SKAT BLAST 960 cabinet / AND I.R. air comp like new / mods have STARTED

I didn't, for 1 main reason.. my cab is wood...
i figure for now, I'll even it out with another flood on the other side.. i did have somewhat of a plan to do my own LED upgrade at some point but never flushed out what i wanted to use.. down the road maybe... I honestly don't use it a ton, but it is invaluable for a surface prep lunatic like myself....
cut the pipe to length / made 4 tabs to hold it off the face just right ( looks like a axle nut socket now ) / set in the hole and ready to weld up . but lunch first .
tab height is set at 1/4" off the face . so it should be mostly dust in to the vac unit now and heavy solids like media drop out and back in to the box .

lunch was good and over so time to finish the install .
i added some 1 sided foam sticky tape around the hole to seal it up and then did 6 #8 self tap screws and washers to secure the unit to the inside wall of the box .
cant wait for the fittings to show up to try it out again and see it work . i do have a few more rally wheels to blast up soon for paint and tires .

so my reclaimer has been doing good . i seem to be loosing less media . i was still getting a lot of dust so i changed brands of media and as soon as i opened the bag WOW what a change .
the tractor supply CRAP for 10.00 per bag has so much dust already inside it .
i swapped to this BLACK BEAUTY and what a change . open the bag and its ALL black and 98%-99% zero dust in the media . i get it at the local building supply wholesaler for stone / concrete / block / cement type products . they have pallets worth of it .
i just blasted 4 16" steel truck wheels the front faces only and the 1/2 bag of used media still looks better than the new stuff from tractor supply they sell .

Had to use the flatbed today to pick up the new equipment for the blast cabinet . Cant wait to un wrap it and hook it up .

Got around to doing the install today . WOW does this unit keep the box cleaner and so much better to see inside over the old unit .

WOW is all i can say in the noise level and amount of dust collection this thing does over the old one . I did a steel rim for a friends little pickup truck and the back side was rusty like normal and i didn't have to slow down to let the dust settle . This unit will suck the gloves in to the box like your wearing them it pulls that much air / cfm . I even left the old collection port 2.25" open for more air in to the box over the stock port on the back .

Have yet to get to that point yet . There washable and reusable once dry . But i got a 2nd set so if they get bad i dont have to wait .
You'll have to post up how long they last. I'm curious over the bag systems. My cabinet is automated and I always go way too long between cleaning the filter bags. The bags are a pain in the ass.
