Ok, time to start thinking about a skid plate for the Blazer. With 44s and about 8 inches of lift, the crossmemebers are up there, but I want some protection for them. The crossmembers are made out of 2x2 square tube. They are the furthest thing hanging down. They are also level with each other, so they make perfect mounting places for a skid plate. The two crossmembers kind of create an easy catch point for rocks now.

How thick should I go with the plate?

And what/how should I mount the front and back to in order to get a \___/ type of plate going? Kind of like below...
