We are looking to put some skid plates on an 07 Dodge 3500 4x4. This is a brush truck for a fire department.

This truck sees heavy use in the rocks and brush. We need to protect the oil pan, tranny and tcase.

We just got it back after having all of the front suspension, oil pan, tranny pan and sway bars replaced due to heavy damage.

Teaching my firefighters how to drive is the first step to preventing this from happening again but I think skid plates will go a long way as well.

If yall have any info, that would be awesome.

Its totally based on how you can mount the skid plates but 3/16" plate with proper reinforcement (either small square tube or vertically mounted strips of plate) will be more than sufficient.

I'm not sure if we can build our own plates or not due to warranty issues. Anybody have any insight on this?

Anyone know of any bolt on kits?

maybe dodge will modify the warranty or something due to the fact that it's a special use vehicle. i doubt it, but if nothing else, that would be good publicity for them. helping those who help others or something.

Usually bolt on skid plates, sliders, rock rings and such dont affect the warrenty at all. but you could still check with the dealer.

I think we may just end up building some and use existing holes in the frame to bolt them to.

Now all we need is for Goodyear to come out with the MTR in a 17 inch rim in a 265.

Rocks are hard on those Goodyear All Terrains. We just popped another one today.
