i,ve been cutting fire wood and ceder logs before. just that i was hauling 8 feet long logs. i got plans for next summer and need 16 feet logs. so i came up with this system, kind of works ! today was my first test, and i cut 4 ceders trees, and ended up with 8x 16 feet logs and 2x 8 feet logs . the 2x 8 feet was to big couldn,t get them on skidoo. 2000 pound boat winch, i have to park skidoo after a bump or stump and apply parking brake, on the big logs the skis lift of the ground. i think i bent the frame a little ,its a sled i paid 350 dollars 4 years ago! i don,t really care .

i bought it about 7 too 8 years ago! don,t even remember what model. seems it was around 45 cc! i have too check tommorrow. i was surprise how well it worked, built it last night with 1 inch tubing and scrap iron. took me all day ,with a 1 1/2 hour lunch brake.i was alone snow was good it was about 10 degree F and i had to pull up hill for a bit. about 1/4 mile a trip.

I have been tempted to make a log arch like the one below--but so far my old Sears Suburban tractors have dragged all the trees I needed to move out of the woods without needing one..as long as I hook the chain to the log so it'll lift up the end near the hitch,so it wont dig in and stall the tractor out,it'll drag them no problem..
I have drug out some tree sections over 18" thick about 25 feet long with it many times..

A log arch would remove a lot of strain off the rear axles and the chassis of the tractor--not sure if that might actually work against you though,by reducing traction ...log arch.jpg

i,ve seen a few of those arch kind of systems. maybe with ski it would work, the problem i have is the uphill part. with no weight on the skidoo i just spin.
maybe you could move the logs ahead for more weight, the wheels in your picture seems to lean. i suppose it to add weight on the hitch.

was up there this morning had alot of tree tops to haul, and last time i wasn,t able to haul a big log snow was to soft. installed a few pullies and doubled up log came up no problem. and snow condition was really good this morning almost 0 F -17 C.
