You guys seen this? Interesting concept. Cheap runabout truck, you can potentially get for about $20k. Modular. Bolt on tupperware panels and no paint - all wraps.

Bezos is ram-rodding this w/ some other big players. Supposedly have more than $100mil in financing and 400 employees w/ more looking to be hired at the plant in Indiana. American made with mostly American-sourced components.

The Tesla model 3 was supposed to be the affordable $20k electric car that would change the world. Then when it came out it was north of $30k. Not gonna hold my breath on this one.

I could see my wife enjoying one. She misses her PU. And she's good at banging the panels up. Cheap fixes.

Intriguing.

Their website sucks though. I was trying to “build” one the other day and got so frustrated I gave up.

Wonder if there will be a 4x4/AWD version?

For $20k, if it comes out at that, this would be a pretty attractive option. I haven't looked at new car prices lately, but Id think this probably isn't far off the mark with economy ICE cars.

To me most of these ev's seem best used as a secondary vehicle (depending on how you look at primary and secondary I suppose). As an around town grocery getter/office job commuter the Slate would excel IMO.

I would travel more than 60 miles 1 way, temperate weather,in most electric vehicles.
would be fine for around town.

For a run around vehicle, EV's fit perfect. I'm still considering getting my wife a Mach E when we finally decide to ditch the durango.

I could see this being a good runaround. Esp for the wife, she misses her pickup. And she's good at the scratching and denting of said pickup. So bolt on plastic body panels w/ wrap are an easy fix.
