I found a god size leak on my slave cylinder and went to the store to get a new one, but it did not have the same layout for the line and bleeder.

The one that is on my truck right now has the bleeder positioned at the top when it is installed, but the new one would have it pointed straight down....

I have searched and read everyone saying how the slave needs to be removed to bleed it. Is that because every truck, except for mine has the bleeder pointing down???

If it just semantics I will buy the new one tomorrow.

Got it all fixed the other day.

For anyone searching. Here is how I always bleed these systems.

Put a bottle of brake fluid on the leaf spring and run a hose from it up to the bleeder on the slave. Go over the frame to it.
Use a vacuum bleeder to suck the fluid from the bottle all the way up the the reservoir. Be sure to put a little fluid in the res first.
No bench bleeding required.

This time it only took 10 minutes.

how does the vacuum bleeder hook up to the reservoir?

I just press the hose over the hole in the bottom.
If you see the level of fluid in the res decreasing, then you do not have a good seal.

I used to have a little pointed nipple thing that fit the hole perfect, but I lost it in the last move.
