Sleeping on the bench seat in a regular 2 door cab truck

Any tips for sleeping on the bench seat in a 2dr regular cab truck?
I have done the bench a time or 2.
I prefer the bed.
I am only 5'11" and I had to sleep on my side with my knees bent, but it was better than the Honda civic, I will never do that one again :yikes:

6'1" , 60yo , did this a couple of weeks ago in a 2006, even worse than a squarebody. Sleep in the bed,use a tarp to keep frost/dew off.

I had a Ford Ranger in college. Me and a buddy got stuck sleeping in it many times. One guy in the bed, one in the cab. Guy in the cab would get so crunched up he couldnt sleep about the time the guy in the bed would get too cold to sleep. So we would switch every couple hours. It sucked and we never tried it except drunk but I guess you could do that.

And thank you for reminding me not to be too nostalgic about my late teens and early twenties.

I sleep in mine sitting up , propped up against the door feet stretched out. Can usually get about 2-3 hours that way. Then I Will sit up straight and lay on the steering wheel for a couple more hours . And that usually enough for me.

I remember my '66 Buick Electra had a big back seat--if you put something across the "hump" ant the rear floor,it was possible to stretch out diagonally and only have to bend your knees a bit to lie down in the seat..
But I found the trunk to be even bigger--I remember one night I got a bit too wasted at a party and there was no place for me to sleep at the house the party was at,so I opened the trunk and put the spare tire in the back seat and laid down in it--and was careful not to let the latch lock when I pulled the trunk lid down,I put a rag over the latch..

I actually "slept" in the trunk for several hours--it was about 1-2 am when I got in it,and the sun was up when I awoke, with a wicked hangover/headache..my friends sister happened to walk by my car and I heard her talking,I opened the trunk lid and sat up,and it scared the living :poo: out of her and her friend !..they screamed so loud my friend's father came running out of the house in his underwear to see why they had screamed...I thought it was funny--but he wasn't very amused, neither was his daughter and her friend..

I was traveling across country in a Cadillac sedan deville and I had some duffel bags with sweaters in laying at the feet of the back seat which made a nice flat platform to sleep on, at 5'11" I was really comfortable.
My sister at 5'2" felt even better :pimp:

I had a friend in HS who fell asleep in his chevelle trunk. We duct tape it closed and drove him around until we were out of gas. Called the police about an abandoned car. They showed up nd heard him kicking inside. Opened the trunk with guns drawn. We laughed hard the next day when he told the story.

I fessed up to it bout 5 years ago.

I would like make a bed/seat for the 2nd seat in my sub,but I'm 5'2" ,at work they were putting in a bed seat in a van and said that was big enough for me,bing funny,so I said yes the way I sleep,,then they had to ask how do I sleep, I said in the fetal position crying.

You're right. I was 11 when dad bought his 73.
Youngster!

I’ve slept in a few of mine, as mentioned, side sleep w knees bent and seat belts tucked in. A good pillow source and weather appropriate covers, you’ll be good in a pinch.
