I'd like to know where everyone is planning on camping this year. I'd like to make my reservations, but I haven't really seen anyone commit to any one camp ground...

So...where are we camping???/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

We're leaving in 26 days...reservations would be cool. I just don't want to reserve at one campground to find out everyone else is somewhere else./forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Is slickrock the one right at the entrance to town on the north end? It seemed OK, don't they have a pool and showers there? I would think they would be glad to see us coming, although the fall is kind of a busy time in Moab since it's actually a comfortable temperature. Still a big group should be able to get a decent deal. Anybody have input from last year?
 
I just got off the phone with Slickrock. I made a reservation for myself. They do have showers and pool. The group discount is for TENT camping only, 10 person minimum. Since I'll have a camp trailer, I needed a site, which doesn't count for a discount. The site rate with no hookups is 18.53 including tax. The tent camp group rate is 5.45 a person.

Does that all make sense?
 
I am camping and have no preference since I have never been there.
I can either sleep in my truck (camper shell or setup a tent, which ever is more convenient or cheaper.

Same here, I've never been there and have no idea how all this works... Do I need to call and make reservations or no? I'll just be sleeping in the back of my truck...
 
ok, let me re-phrase, if you are in a tent/Blazer/a tarp on the ground- you can qualify for a discount, IF you have 10 or more heads.

If you are using a camping trailer/ motor home/ bus and the like, they won't let you qualify as being in the "group" for a discount.

If you are tenting, back of the blazer, etc. Call them up, and make a reservation, mention CK5, Blazer event, anything like that. If 10 or more show up, you get a cheap camping rate when all 10 or more are there.

Is that a better explanation?

I was just unsure if this was the spot most people would be camping at or not. I'll have to give them a call as you suggested and mention CK5. There will be two of us, so all we need is 8 more and we all get the lower rate correct?

We'll be camping in a tent.

The more the merrier...to me that is the whole idea. Have about 20 or more CK5ers camping in the same spot should be pretty cool.

I'll be calling and reserving a spot tomorrow morning.

I guess so, just mention you're with the CK5 group from what I understand.

so i think we got the ten, but i think more than 10 is good as well?
