Should my rear drive shaft be a slip-shaft the reason why i ask someone mention that was odd! should it be solid in the rear? the truck has a 6" lift real bouncy the u-joint busted from the rear drive shaft but the upper side of the u-joint does it make a difference whether or not the front drive shaft is on or off? does having both shafts stiffen up the movement/bounce of case?

Not sure what you're talking about but your rear driveshaft should be a slip shaft. Two pieces where the driveshaft has a slip between the two ujoints somewhere. A slip yoke shaft is where the slip is on one end of the driveshaft that goes inside the tcase. The driveshaft then is one big tube.

A rear driveshaft from a 203 is a slip shaft.

thats what iam talking about the the slip yoke shaft the rear drive shaft slips into to the yoke making it one piece does that sound right! thats what i have in the rear. ok i got it the drive shaft has bottom u joint then its slips into the yoke that has another u joint that attaches to the case thats what i mean sorry i was just wondering is that what i should have or should it be a solid no sliping into the yoke?

i am waiting on some money so i can up=grade my membership so i can post some pictures trust me i want full access to this website sorry i will post when i can thanks

if the tcase or tranny has a fixed yoke ie: bolts on the back . then it requires a drive shaft with a slip joint on 1 end of the shaft.

and if you have to use a wrench to remove the drive shaft from the end of the tcase or tranny then this is a fixed yoke style unit that requires that slip on the shaft.

if you just unbolt the axle end and pull it out the end of the tranny / tcase with no tools and leave nothing behind then its a slip yoke at tcase / tranny end.

but all 203 are fixed yoke rear. so its th slip shaft style yoke.

thats what it is a fixed yoke style because i use a wrench to drop the drive shaft to fix the busted u joint so it seems to me that i have the right rear drive shaft THANKS That Solves the MYSTERY
