Slip yoke travel

If the yoke will fit and is not too worn, that might fix it.

Thinking back, I never did this, or saw my guy do it. It was just so common that he went ahead and replaced it.

But, you should be able to detect the offset. It might be obvious enough to see if you sight down the center of the shaft.
The cross should be in the exact center.

Or, I think you could measure from the outside of the yoke to the inside of the cross on both sides.

If the cross is offset, then the measurements should be different assuming the yoke is centered in the tube.

Don't know how much off they were.

Heck, it might even be noticeable as to the thickness of the sides of the yoke. One side would be thinner than the other.

Finding out for sure that is the problem will not fix anything, but at least it tells you what needs to be done.

The yoke that i,m using is from a M1009 wich somebody parted out.I didn,t want to remove the yoke from my 10b axle to keep it complete for selling it.

I did this and it did seem to have the same distance between the cap surface and the outside of the yoke on both sides.

I also could try to use a conversion U-joint and back to the 12 bolts yoke.

Thanks
