if i were to get a new slip yoke does it just slip eite in or do i have to take the transfer case apart?

Slip yoke just slides right in the back of the transfer case. Only disasembly is removing the rear drive shaft and the u-joint to get the old one off and new one on. Be sure to block the wheels before removing the driveshaft.

Replacing the slip yoke = easy (the same work as changing a U-joint)
Replacing the bushing and seal = just pull the tail section of the case off
Replacing the output shaft of the t-case = complete teardown

Just remember to be ready to catch the fluid when you pull the shaft out.
