Sloppy Box

Is there a solution for a sloppy steering box other than buying a new one. Can it be rebuilt? I think I remember seeing something about a rebuild, but I did a search and couldn't come up with anything.

My column is tight, and I have new tie rods so now I can see how bad the steering box is.

Just get another used one, I bet it's in better shape.

Before buying another box check your DLE's, also check that the box is actually bolted tightly to the frame. Check the reg joint too. I've found all these things are more of a problem than a worn box.

sloppy box??--is this a BOTD post??

Loose u-joints in a tilt steering colum can feel like the box is worn--if it is the box itself,I'd also reccomend a good used one--middleboro auto salvage had several 4x4 trucks there with decent boxes,but they closed for a week to crush out a lot of them--might not be any left now.... I bet they junked the K30 I saw there with a dana 60 too.. ..
