I'm having a really difficult time finding name brand slotted (or drilled and slotted) front brake rotors for my '86 K5 Blazer. The local Oreilly's and Autozone don't have them. I ordered a set of Baer rotors from Summit Racing, and the product description said they would fit. But when they arrived they were missing the center hub part (the part that houses the wheel bearings). See the pictures below.

I see that LMC truck sells what I'm looking for, but all their stuff is made in Va-china. I refuse to have low quality brakes. Will someone please help me find a name brand set of slotted (or drilled and slotted) front rotors?

You may be asking, why is this dude so hung up on slotted rotors? Here's why. I'm preparing for an awesome week long trip going up and down mountain mining roads in Colorado in early Summer. I want to minimize my chances of brake fade, so at a minimum I want slotted rotors. I've heard a lot of bad stories on how drilled rotors will crack, so I'm not too keen on the drilled style. Either way, I want to keep my brakes as cool as possible. I'm also using 570 degree racing brake fluid (higher boiling point).

Thank you for explaining that. I've been scratching my head wondering why all the rotors I see for sale don't look like mine. That makes sense. Guess I'll start looking for a machine shop to press the parts...

Or get you a Harbor Freight (Northern Tool, whatever you have locall) press. Not super spendy, multiple purposes. I think mine's the 20-ton but even the 12-ton is handy.

I knocked ll mine out with an old lugnut, one good smack with a 5 pounder, pop,,,

May not be the "right" way, but it worked without damaging any threads.:D

slotted be good .

good upgrade pads like hawk / ebc / or others . napa has a listing for severe duty use and there nickname is rotor eaters !

and watch out what brake fluid you run . has be compatible with all seals and hoses in your system . some fancy stuff is NOT compatible.

as said 95% of the time all that needs serviced is the rotor so that's why its rotor only sold . you can get plain style with hubs on them tho as you have in 1st pic .

a LOT of name brand brake stuff like rotors and drums are all over sea's now so don't be surprised !!!
