I think I dinged my aluminum rim on a rock and now even after getting new tires put on I still have a slow leak. Whats the best solution?
A can of that nasty tire crap?:doah:

if you can see the ding and its not cracked or through the bead you may be able to grind the bump out of the bead so it seats right:dunno:

i would find the offending area with soapy water, mark the location with a sharpie, dismount and see what the prob is.. you may be able to just smooth/sand/file/smash/nuke it to where it'll hold a bead...

Or just slather on some bead sealer.

Anything to avoid that tire fix crap.

goop you put on the bead when installing.. like a gasket sealant..

X2 on the bead sealer. I'd find the leak, dismount and see what you've got first though. I know when I worked at a tire shop all the aluminum rims had a bunch of corrosion on the beads (NE Ohio salt:doah:) so we'd grind it off, then apply the bead sealer. It always took care of it as long as the rim wasn't cracked or had too big of a dent in it.

clean and bead seal.

and fyi fix - a - flat stuff dosnt climb up a side wall and in to the beads. it is only for the tread area basicly.
