How long is that trailer?
Not sure, I’d have to ask the guy that owns it
How long is that trailer?
@GWeakland620 caught me posting on Facebook and told me I should update the thread, so here we are! Last Tuesday I got some ambitions after work and got the NV4500 finally cut out of the pos K2500 it was in. lo and behold the PO wasn’t full of it and it did actually have a new clutch in it.

Need to get the hydraulics ordered that way if the world ends I can work on this at home. May eat that done tomorrow morning.
It was hot and humid Thursday afternoon so I finally got motivated enough to get the passenger window working and reinstall the door panel.

this yielded a pair of very happy pups since the window can finally be rolled down.

The most exciting part, yesterday I hauled off the maroon truck to the crusher then brought these home

These came from an M1008 with only 15,000 miles on it, the guy traded them to the yard owner for some rebuilt 3.73 geared 3/4 ton axles. So his loss is my gain! I had to do some horse trading which resulted in no longer having a 5.9 for the burb but that’s ok. The 350 should provide plenty of reliable service especially with the NV4500 and 4.56 gears.

You traded a 6BT for a set of CUCV axles?![]()

All depends on the condition of the 5.9 what he paid for it. Cost to replace if that’s the goal. What the 60 is worth in his area. The will to do a Cummins swap.
So many factors.

Good update!
Been busy tackling small projects the last couple evenings. Nothing major but I can now pull trailers and have functional trailer lights so that’s a plus.
removed this hacked crap from the back

And installed one connector instead of the three someone had botched in

Sally had been laying around watching me work on this so a reward ride was in order. The scenery sure didn’t disappoint

Yesterday’s project was ditching the towing mirrors in favor of the 70’s style that tucks in close to the doors. The worst about these is the generally rip the top mount out of the door. So I whipped up a couple short straps with nuts welded on really quick and set about ripping the doors apart.

And mirrors on.

Not only do they look much better but they’ll allow me to be lazy and drive it through an automatic car wash on occasion as well as fit through the woods to camp since that weather is now upon us. all this burb work required another test ride to make someone happy

Last bit of this update, got a $100 Jeep to use as a side by side around the farm. Gotta go back and get the good tub and the transmission/tcase but the bulk of its home. This will be tossed together cheaply and will never have a top just a cage and that’s about it. But it was a good excuse to put the burb to the towing test (and see if the TH400 will die)

Did you just replace one set of swing out mirrors with another set of swing out mirrors?

Don't need hydro boost for a 350...Those don't look like hydroboost pedals to me...

I just bought a vacuum hydro setup. I have no plans for hydroboost.

I don’t either, vacuum will work just fine for my uses also. Plus the brake pedal can be dropped without removing the whole assembly anyways if I for some reason change it in the future.
If I never do that again it’ll be too soon.
