Sweat my father took it out of an Chevy years ago. I can remember playing with it as a kid. Shifting gears. We threw it in an old basement of an old house. The house is long since gone but the complete tranny is sitting there. I was looking for a shifter and taught about it. I am gonna haul it home in a few days. My buddy said the same tranny was in his Fathers dump truck, so I said it must be a good low gear. A little research and it says 7.05:1, Sweat
I was probably foolish not to grab one of theese tranny's when the junkyard closed I worked at this year..there were several GM school busses from 1956-1965 there with them --a few of the busses had 5 speed Clark trannys too--I passed on them because of the driveshaft mounted "E" brake assembly--something that I wasnt't sure would be desireable,or whether they could be coupled to a 4x4 transfer case, being 2wd.. ...oh well--they are history now..
