SM465 help "Fixed thanks"

Looked at a K5 last night. Pics will follow if it comes home. Anyway the 465 is stuck in first gear. The truck was in a front end collision. What should I look for to get it to go through the gears? Clutch feels good. The 208 shifts so I can load the truck but would rather drive it home.

I had this happen to mine,I turned out to be the detent ball and spring in the shifter tower.Also on the shifter forks at the end is some nylon that wears out.

Some how the spring went past the ball and twisted up in there.Was an easy fix if you can find a shift tower rebuild kit.

Take the shifter out and try puttting it into nuetral with a big screwdriver (shifting one rail at a time).
