replaced the seals and gaskets on my tranny and twinsticked my 205 while i had them out for a clutch job.all has gone smooth but my front shifter ring(?) is too far forward to install the shifter. it was free moving before now it will not slide back. the piece it rides on currently has 3 spring loaded silver pieces that are in between the teeth. could these be preventing me from pulling it back? any guesses are welcome because i am out of ideas. i cant post picture link yet, or at least till i figure something out. i have pictures on pavementsucks. com

Are you talking about the shiftcollar itself?

If so, you may have pushed it a bit too far and had the little spring loaded pads come out of alignment. Those pads are used to help lock the collar into whichever position you put it into, just use a screwdriver to push them down towards the mainshaft while rocking the shift collar back towards the center of the two gears. I had my NV4500 do that and it took a ton of effort to slip it back but is doable.
