SM465 input shaft has play in it - problem?

I am getting ready to swap a SM465/NP205 into my Blazer. Everything inside the 465 seems to be in good shape except the input shaft has some play in it. Is it normal to be able to wiggle the input shaft slightly or does this suggest a problem?

The pilot bushing supports the other end, so no its not a problem unless its excessive.
