ok guys i have a buddy who is 5.3 swaping his 94 silverado and while he swaping the engine he is changing to a maunal 4 speed (sm465) the only problem is the tbi truck has a driver side drop front axle and i think the all the old 4 speeds were passeneger side drop. is there any driver side drops that bolt to the sm465 or is there some other way to go about this.

The transfer case is all that matters so long it is a drivers side drop and 32 spline it will work.

If he finds a late SM465 out of a IFS truck he'd have all the parts.

IIRC the LS engine requires some special stuff to run an older style manual trans. I can't remember if it was a whole different flywheel required or just a spacer (I think a different flywheel though). I have a friend who did an LS swap while using a SM465 trans and I know he had to buy some $300.00 special something or another to make it work.

Yeah. I've got the part numbers on my computer at home. But I do remember it's the Ram #1550 flywheel bolts to the gen3 and accepts old school clutches. Use a pilot bearing from a ls2 corvette. There's several different ways to go about it....I'll post more when I get home.

Si senor.

The LS to older trans issue is a distance thing not a bellhousing pattern issue.

Stock OEM flywheel GM# 12561680. Uses GenIII clutch assembly.
OEM 0.400 spacer GM# 12563532
longer bolts GM# 12563533
McLeod extended pilot bushing #8617

Ram-1550 Flywheel. Use standard clutch. I don't know if you have to use the spacer with this flywheel.
Special pilot bearing GM# 12557583
