seems to be leaking from several places, front main seal, top cap, tranny to adaptor seal, adaptor to t-case, are their gaskets for the top cap and the adaptor or is it best to use gasket maker?

Use gaskets and rtv together
You could bolt down the top plate.. of course that would eleminate you quick removal shifter

Did you over fill it?
yeah the previous owner of my truck put over 2 gallons of gear lube into the tranny. He must have filled it through the reverse light switch hole. The same thing happened to me with oil just seeming to come out of no where and everywhere at the same time.

im going to drain it and put a gallon back in, then wipe it down and see if it still leaks

Don't drain it all out, thats not needed, just remove the fill plug(on the side of the case) ad let it drain out until it stops, then it is full

my 465 leaks like crap too....i filled it up to the proper level and it still leaks like crazy. when you fill up the trans does some of the oil go in to the transfer case? cuz i think mine did. i filled my transfer care and then my trans mission so i think it was way to full...key words "i think", not very reliable...
speaking of 465 stuff, i always grind going in to third gear and now when i am idling in neutral, not moving, and try to go into 1st gear it grinds and i think i remember that there was somthing stoping that... idk.... well thanks for the view and responses...

sounds like a plan, ill give that a try when i get to my truck tomorrow

your trans can leak into your t-case
have you tried bleeding your clutch? seems like when its grinding gears like that the clutch isnt depressed all the way
