SM465 Manual Transmission

Does anybody know if the SM465 4-Speed transmission has straight cut or helical cut gears?

I just wanted to make sure that the subtle whining sound coming from the tranny wasn't worn out bearings or too much clearance between the gears. As far as I know straight cut gears always have some whine to them. That's why I asked .
