post your problemtoo... someone may know whats up...:doah:

ok so my trans would not spin when mounted to adapter and tcase

unbolted t case from adapter still not spin then unbolted trans and adapter then it spins wtf?

do you have a gasket between the adapter and the tranny?

i think they are a 3/8" bolt like 1 1/4" long, its been a long time since i had one out, so im not exactly sure.

They are two diffente lengths. The ones that go into the tcase are about .250 longer than the xmsn ones. If you need pics I can oblige.

You need to run a factory width gasket between the adaptor and tranny. They work like a shim to pre-load the bearings. No gasket = tons of load on the bearings and thats why you can't turn them by hand.

That is from the parts number thread in this sites tech section.

DANG!! I have a folder with all the part number post printed out, didnt even think to look there.

i just made my own gasket from the old crusty piece traced onto roll gasket material. then spent 30 minutes cutting it out with an xacto knife.
i kept the old gasket and have extra roll stuff, if you like i could trace another and mail it to you.

that part number should be good at your local GM dealer also so you can get one and see that it is the right side of the adaptor.

The link wasn't really a link. The new forum software isn't allowing cut and paste (atleast not with firefox) so I use the attach link to cut and past. :D
Saves typing.
