Sm465...pto????

Hey guys, i was just tossing a few ideas around the garage and i was wondering where to find a PTO unit that mounts to an sm465. I was thinking of running a winch or maybe a air compressor off of it. i do use the truck for play and at work on the farm so air tools anywhere would be the awsome! I have the tranny so why not use it for its intended use? Also there are two blocking plates on it. Does that mean i could use two PTOs at the same time? i have googled the question but just a bunch of old threads on other sites come up but no vendors or sites to get one. Again just some ideas, nothing in stone yet.

I think Muncie and Spicer both make them. I have a PTO drive that is the same bolt pattern, but I haven't looked to see if the gear mesh is the same. The place that sells them here in Denver is called Drive Train Industries. Thet sell lots of big truck parts, but coincidentally are a spicer dealer.

See if there is a Spicer dealer local to you.

SM465's do have two PTO spots.

If you have a np205 or np203 find one that will fit it instead. You will then have 4 forward speeds and one reverse. As opposed to having just one single forward speed.

The transfer case sounds alot better cause of the different speeds. The nearest Spicer dealer is only 12 miles away. And guys thanks for the info.
