Let's see if I remember...the 700r d-shaft will bolt to a 14bff w/o a conversion joint(I know that's not the question)and...I think, mine had to be extended from 64"-67".HOWEVER...I didn't use the 700r d-shaft.I pulled one off a '78 J20,used that because it had a slip-shaft.cost for extending w/ new spicer u-joints in both ends was $152+ change out the door.I don't think there's any way you'll know until you do the swap.I forgot: No lift involved in my swap.stock height.

I just did the same setup in my blazer and i had to get a differnt rear drive shaft and shorten my front. Keep in mind the tranny and tcase i got came from a truck.

yeah your going to have to get a new rear drive shaft if the 205 is a fixed yoke, and your 208 is a slip yoke, and you also might have to shorten the front a few inches

Forgot to mention. The tranny and t-case came from a 79 K10 I still have the front drive shaft on the T-case. Even with the lift ill still need to shorten the front shaft? Infact the axles that are on my truck now 10b/12b came from the same truck the 79'. I had to have the U joints modded to fit my driveshaft now. My truck is a 86 K10.
