Hey guys a quick question:

If I pick up a chevy NV4500 trans that was in a 4x4, how many more mods/parts will I need to change it with my SM465?

I assume a clutch and flywheel, but yah.

I have a 6.2l in the truck atm with the sm465 and a hydro clutch (not a cable).

Is the 465 a round or figure 8 pattern the 205 will need to match to be able to bolt onto the 4500. Most 465/205 combos are 10 spline figure 8 and will not bolt up to a nv4500.

If it's one of the trucks in your sig line, the transfer case should bolt right up, one bolt hole on the NV4500 flange will be a couple of millimeters off but a round file fixes that pretty quick.

If you have a few inches of lift on the truck, you can use the stock NV4500 hydraulics. Your clutch and flywheel will work fine.

It's a pretty easy swap on the '86 and up trucks . . . .

Yeah its the new one, I am still confused about what it really is, the company who sold it to me called it an 87. But at DMV and yesterdays diggin around its an 89.

It has the 4-speed (3 with granny) and the D60/14bff setup 3+3 (crew) and my personal favorite 6.2l diesel.

I cant wait to get it road worthy... paint or no paint....

Thanks for all the help here guys... I do appreciate it. (and puttin up with my noob questions)
