SM465 wires

On my Sm465 there is a 2 wire plug that connects to the case on the upper drivers side. The wires have been cut what do they go to?? What are they for? Thanks...

Some SM465s will have two switches. One for the backup lights, and one that indicates high gear for the transmission controlled spark (early '70s) system. The one you are talking about (driver's side) should be the backup light switch though.
