Sm465?

im in iraq without access to my truck, i was wondering what trans i might have, it's a 1980 K5 Blazer, 5.7 350, manual, the gears are low,1,2,3,and R, I was also wondering is that considered the 3 or 4 speed?

should be a sm 465, i am not sure what it is considered technically, 3 or 4 spd.

4 forward gears = 4 speed in my book. Definitely a SM 465 though.

I have an NV4500 and the shifter says 1-2-3-4-OD...and it's a 5 speed.

i call them 4 spd's as well but i have heard others call 465's a "3spd with granny gear".

ive heard em called both ways. love my 465.

It would be an SM465. The trans is always refered to by how many forward gears there are regardless of standard or auto.
