are all small block engine parts interchangable? parts like igntion? going form sb 400 to 350 or should i buy new igniton/ distributor?

the ignition and distributor are the same for both motors

All external parts are interchangeable, provided the heads have the proper accessoory holes, pre '86....400 heads have steam holes, 350 heads do not. The cam, timing gear, lifters and oil pumps exchange.

The crankshaft, and connecting rods can be used with wooork/planning....(Except for the 400 rods into a 350, no reason for that)

Anything more specific?
