would it be stupid to put 49 iroks on a blazer?:doah: i think the wheel base might be to short, it would look funny. i coundnt find a pic of one, but i found a few 1/2 ton pickups and they look good. they all had like 20" lift! which if i ever did this i would go maybe 12" max with alot of cutting. just a thouhgt i had.

does a 1/2 ton have the same wheel base as a blazer?

the blazer chassis is shorter then a reg short box half ton chevy pickup and 49's on a blazer are possible you will need at least 15" lift and MINOR fender trimming thats for sure!!! but its do able alot of hieght though dude.. i wanna run em mainly for winter wheelin so diffs dont drag but if your gonna do trail riding thats gonna be a BUGGER to roll in thats for sure you wont fit anywhere haha they are stupid wide... so it really all depends on what your wheelin in mostly for mud they should be decent as well but anything else they are pretty much useless..

so you dont think it would look to bad? like the wheels look like there going to touch :eek1: maybe a pickup would be better. what rig are you putting 49s on

this dude is running 14" out back and 18" up front and he clears 49" iroks...this is on a standard cab short bed 1/2 ton (used to be ;)) and it looks perfect...

the k5's are a touch shorter in the wb department though but I think you'd still be ok, once you go that big its not like you are going to be hittin' up the trails or anything, just wide open sand, mud, snow, etc...

it does look great, but if and when i do this i dont want it up in the clouds!! i woud most likely run rockwells. so driveshaft angles are no big deal. i dont think ill need much flex. it would be more mudding then rocks. i havent seen the tire up close but i woudnt want to go over 12" unless i just had to. i have a blazer 6" and 37s and i love it!! but ive always wanted a big truck. so i dont know if i would like it on a blazer couse the wheel base is so short.
but whatever i was just thinking about it.:D

You just stated you have a big truck, unless what you want is a crazy huge truck to enter in the Monster Jam. That does not seem like a very wise thing to do though unless you are not going to worry about driving it everyday or if you have plenty of money to blow on tires. Basically, 49's do not make for a very street friendly ride. By the same token though, we all modify to some extent. A man's got to know his limitations! (Name that movie.):haha:

Here is a picture of a guy that use to ride with us. Its a fullsize frame and s10 cab with 49" iroks. Sadly he sold the truck a few months ago. I tried to get those tires when they were posted on another board but he beat me to them.
Here's a link to a video also of them http://coloradok5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=188813 its called --> Micheal Kodak

no a blazer with 6" lift is not a big truck! some guys run 20" lift in the mud.

6" w/37's is a good sized truck. I run 8" on 40's in the K5 and 6" w/35's on the crewcab. Both are considered to be big trucks. It's all in what you consider big. Anything much bigger and you start getting into steering geometry and all that is involved and you end up with a money pit. A 20" lift may be necessary to run huge tires or to look good but you can still do that with what you have.

Do you intend to have this as a dd as well or strictly a mud machine. If the latter then go for it (if you get the rockwells). If not then think about having to climb in all the time.

It would be my toy! and yes if i do go the 49 way i would get rockwells. im still young (23) so dont mind about a little jump
in. :D
Yeah, only mud.

Cool then. I can respect the whole topy thing then.
