Currently doing an LT swap (2016 5.3/8l90) in my 1986 k5. The valve cover is hitting the brake booster. Can anyone suggest a bolt on quick change brake booster that is smaller than the 10 3/4 diaphragm that comes on the stock truck.
Many Thanks!!

Yes…. That’s the next step. There are so many modifications that have to happen to swap. I have looked several times on this page for a swap guide. I can’t find a link. Any suggestions?

Not really a swap guide for that, but I have done it in @Desert_K5 rig. We cleared the booster, but not by a lot.

hydroboost unit & master to match your brake/axle size .

brake pedal mount under the dash and pedal .

p/s pump for your style motor and hydroboost with 2nd return hose port . or a remote can from a full size van with the 2nd return nipple on the can .

otherwise bolt it up and go .

I haven't done this but the corvette used a 8-8.5" dual diaphragm booster. it will be long than current booster, but should bolt in. Brake rod might need mod.

You should have done a full build thread on his swap. Then I could reference it when I do my 48 Suburban. Although, not much will be the same.

LT engines don't run power steering pumps stock. Since you need a pump for the steering, plan on one that works with hydroboost. You won't have to worry about the booster hitting then.
