Just got my wife an '86 K5 (Man, I love her; She's so easy to please). Now I have to get it smogged. The supposedly original carb is in a crate, but the nuber comes back to a 307, not a 350. I have the original carb for my '85. So here's the question: How reliable are the electronics in these CCC carbs? The rebuild kit includes everthing except new electrical junk- just a standard kit.

The mix control solenoid (MCS) seems to be quite reliable, but the TPS in them seems to almost ALWAYS be dead. You can test it, look for dead spots with a meter.

307 (Had to be Olds if it's CCC) carb would have the fuel inlet facing straight forward.

There are differences in the CCC carbs, no idea how "close" they will be one year to the next, or one CID to the next.
