Ethanol is found in alcoholic beverages. Also, denatured alcohol is ethanol w/ a poison added and is usually available at home stores by the gallon.
True, I meant at gas stations.
I used to dump a gallon in the tank of my firebird right before smog. Would drop co and hc down a couple of points. no nox measured here.
Another factor is your Q-Jet. Q-jets are known for wearing out the throttle shaft, which causes a vacuum leak, thus running lean. Combined with no EGR, and maybe other vacuum leaks, this will cause a lean condition.
