Smog Pump removal

Im going to be removing the smog(AIR) pump because i just dont want it on there. That, and the headers are not going to have bungs for the air hoses. I understand that there is a hose that travels from the pump to the carb. once i disconect the pump, what do i do with the hose that ran to the carb? Do i plug it or should i hook it up else where..

take the hose off, go to the auto parts store and get some caps for vaccum ports on the carb.

will it "F" up the idle at all, and other than idle adjustment are there any adjustments i need to make to the carb?
