I cant answer your question but what i usually do when i need a cali legal cat, and dont feel like paying an arm/leg is I go to the ca dmv site and they have a search engine of acceptable cats, then i take the part #'s and google em to find the cheapest one. Its saved me and some freinds $2-300 and no issues with it being legal to use.

Ill try to find a direct link to the search engine but im at work now so itll be a few

Edit: heres the link: https://ssl.arb.ca.gov/PartsSearchTool/CatalystSearchTool.aspx

Also asked our smog guy n he said its gotta be 50 state legal in cali. He said pre obd2 has a little more grey area as far as cats go.
