Anyone have experience with this?

My '90 service manual shows a connector right at the stalk (up top at the turn signal switch), but the stalk I've got has the long wire that has only the connection at the end under the dash. Wondering if it's possible to snake the wire down the column, through the insulator, without taking anything other than the steering wheel/turn signal switch loose?

This install has been a hassle, good thing I'll forget that once I can cruise without using my foot. :pimp1:

What I usually do is tape a wire to the turn signal wiring, then pull it up through the column, then when you are ready to put the signal wiring down along with the cruise wiring, just tape them to that wire you pulled up, and use it to pull the other two down :)

I used an old guitar string and pushed it down the little whitesh tube thing. I then taped the cruise wire to it and wala it was done. I was told use piano wire it is harder (stiffer) :haha:

It is a freeking PITA, and when I did it I ended up just hanging the wire OUTSIDE the column. I didn't have a fish stiff enough (*) to get it down the column.

* Only in this hobby can we talk about fish being stiff or limited slip lubes for our rear ends :doah:

Tell me about it. '90 manual shows the connector near the base of the column clipping into the metal bracket that the wiper delay module sits on. (so THATS how you are supposed to mount the delay module? lol) No matter how I route the wiring harness for the cruise, it's either too short to reach the fuse panel or ground, or the connector can't reach that bracket.

I can already tell that stalk wiring is going to end up coming out of the column where it reappears towards the base, and immediately being routed towards the drivers side of the vehicle, where the harness connector is.

I have to say, the wiring harness guys on the assembly line were artists lol.
