This shot was taken on Saturday. Damn near a done deal on this one.

New engine crossmember??? Ok I give, what the hell is it? need to know incase I need/want it? :D :haha:

Looks like a "modern art" piece I saw at the art museum a couple weeks ago. In the main lobby of the museum, there was a sculpture that looked like a crank shaft, so why not a couple pieces of metal welded together? :haha:

DIY boomarang! :haha: DUCK if it comes around!!

Engine crossmember for the 73-87 years. This one more specifically is a big block model.

We're going to do some that are specific to engines for swap kits.

Good...new reason not to drop the 406 after I get it from Terry right away...

Is there a reason there is only two bolt mounting holes? I might be dropping the 454 I bought from longbedder in my 73' K5 instead of my burb.

There are more mounting holes, just can't see them at that angle.:D

Kert, everything you build is top notch stuff but i'm at a loss as to why anyone would need a "special" crossmember for a BBC when they fit without problems in the stock crossmember of the 73-87(91) rigs? Maybe there's something i'm not aware of?

The biggest advantage to the crossmember for both the SBC and BBC are more clearance for crossover steering and anything else under the front of your rig which requires more space than what the factory had intended on providing.

Crossmember itself is up higher and back further. Maybe somewhat of a nonissue but we're also seeing some better protection for the oil pan and may capitolize on that as well.

Ok, i can see your points. I didn't even think about the crossover deal as i have it and don't have any issues with it hitting BUT for someone who runs reverse highsteer i could definately see some issues there.

The big blocks also tend to have clearance issues when running a higher capacity oil pan.

Actually this is the introweb, so he'll have to kill everybody that has, or will ever get web access.
