sneaking toys by the wife

but most of the time when i hear this making of decisions by both people, it really just boils down to,,,,,she doesn't want it, if you get it against her wishes, she will be pissed, and YOU will be miserable for some time until she goes out and buys more shoes.....

don't need the drama of todays women, their attitudes have seriously changed, and more and more men have been pussified into letting their women have more and more control over them as they are affraid of getting them pissed at us and "not putting out later"

I have toagree with manny in general:
I am married, 2 years now, I know you can say it's not long enough, but I am always honest, and I don't ask her I tell her what I am doing, sometimes she doesn't like it (too bad), sometimes she's OK with it. In general she doesn't like my hobby, I have 12 projects and parts all over the place, still messy since I am still moving from my old house.
I recently lost my job, and I have been selling some of my projects and parts to keep a float, she told me she's glad that I had this hobby, at least I can sell some of it and make some money. Her brother collects model cars, she said what can he do with those, you can't make money, you will lose on every purchase (he buys the new cheap 8" models)
So all in all, she doesn't like what I do but she accepts it, and we are doing great because I also have common interests with her that my hobby gets us to. We back pack, hike, and camp so the 4x4 gets us there. :D

My wife takes the Tony Soprano approach. If I sell something parts, truck etc. on the side & she finds out then I must give her a piece of the "action". Not right by any means, but child support for the next 18yrs would be worse.

Lucky for me, the wife likes to see me happy. It makes her happy. I am the same way, I like to see her happy and it makes me happy.

With that being said, the K5 is my pride and joy and it takes money to get things done to it. Modifications and a running truck make me happy. Now you might see where this is going. I havent really been sneaking anything, more doing things and living by the "easier to ask forgiveness than permission" approach. HOWEVER, big purchases have been a mutual agreement, but sometimes I might kinda mislead her....

Wow... This thread has went to alot of places. I do have to agree with Muddinmanny. Myself, I have been married for 8 years and have been together since I was 14. The thing about buying toys in my house is this. She is the one responsible for our accounts. I hand my check over to her signed at the end of the month and she gets the bills payed. But the difference with us is she understands my material wants and SHE is the one that does the saving for my new parts. For example, I am looking at $1200 worth of lift, brakes, yada yada and she is setting aside the funds. Does she like them per say, not necessarily, does she want to do it for me, Yes. What muddinmanny was saying, it is a two way street and we make the decisions TOGETHER so I do not have to HIDE the new toys.

I guess I am lucky. I have a wife that is more concerned with my wants than her own and in a way I am more concerned about hers than mine.

babyburb, same thing here, if its less than 200 bucks i just get it and dont worry about it... but past that, i tell her what i need, and she'll save it for me and tell me when it's ready.. she actually had 2500$ saved for me without my knowledge to buy a superclean shortbed gmc right around the corner, but the guy wouldnt sell and we used it to buy new furniture instead...

damn i am glad i am single,,,,don't have to worry about a woman "controlling" me with what i do or spend my money on...

true dat. i spent $350 last week, and plan on spending another $1400 in the next couple of weeks, then another $1000 at tax time on tires, plus all the little odds and ends here and there. a female would REALLY get in my way right now.

that's why i keep a booty call on speed dial. :deal:

My wife is pretty cool as long as the bills are paid I can spend and buy what I want to and she lets it slide ..........until the yard starts getting full
