so i searched the forums and nobody gave me any great ideas..

so this is my idea i've heard of people using, im 16, so im not the brightest

I'm going to the englishtown swap meet (any NJ people would know) and i hope to find only the exterior tubing part, none of the interior stuff. If i can't find one at a decent price, or at all I was thinking of using some metal.

Anyways its a 350 s.b. in an 87 and i want to ditch my stupid k&n air filter since it keeps getting clogged and i keep stalling and i think tis bc of that.

I was just thinking of a few speed bumps.

Air filter.
I could run one of the top but wouldn't that just suck mroe mud and dust? So for that i was thinking dual filters, one on top, one right before the carb within the A/C tubing i would use.

connecting to the carb
would i just tbuy round a/c tubing like i've read and clamp it on, ro like what exactly?

and if i can't find one, could i possibly use metal since i don't like the way the round pvc plastic looks like, then i could get a little more creative. what size tubing would be nessacary?

I went to http://www.4x4connection.com and bought their toyota landcruizer xj80 snorkel...

80 series is longer and looks like this...

now I noticed their prices went up....
I didnt have to mold anything.. I just laid the template on my fender and drilled holes.. and bolted on...
I used pvc under the hood and stock air cleaner...

Rootbreaker...i gotta tell you...IVe always loved the way your truck looks. Combination of hawgs, all springs uncut body. Its what i want mine to be like.

PAD.

Just use that garden drainage hose and run it from your intake tube and cut a hole in your hood and throw the hose over the cab. That's how all the guys at the local mud runs do it. Looks ghetto in my opinion, but if that's what you wanna use your truck for, I guess it's functional and cheap.

it was my first time wheeling since i built it (i'm 16)

anyways i have a vid..

here is the size normally, i'll post specs as well
350 with headers, highrise manifold, holley carb, we rebuilt it completely
700r4 w/ shift kit rebuilt and we installed it
threw in a 14 bolt semi float rear and 8 lug 44 (so no knuckle swap and bs gearing)
had custom exahsut installed
37x14x16 iroks on 16x8 inch rock crawler wheels

taken major time to fund but with major help from my dad and my cousin helping teach me everything

the tcase is stock, untouched np208

I am just going to go into the "gutter" where the wiper linkage is to protect against splash-up in front. I haven't done it yet but should do it soon if I am going to keep this up:eek1:

SICK pic Ak...damn...did your gear up top get wet in this pic...hehe

forgot to ask, how can i cover up my distributor and my starter so i don't get them wet?

any suggestions?

Wtf, we're messing with you dude. No need to be a douche. But it's as simple as that, if you don't want to get it wet, don't go in deep water. If you go in deep water, you're just taking your chances.

My buddy used clear silicone to caulk around his distributor and to caluk his airbox (he has a snorkel on his heep)

exactly....

something you have to realize... you play... you pay...

I have had my truck since 1989 and have been through 15 starters, 10 alternators, 2 radiators, 5 water pumps and various other stuff....

you cant just cover stuff up... a starter needs to vent some.... they just go..... best bet is to carry a spare...

I dont do it yet but in the future I plan on carrying an extra water pump, alternator, starter, belts, tools, full fluids, caulk, extra driveshafts, etc....

yeah it is a mess to carry all this stuff but our trucks were only made to handle so much.. no matter how much you play you will eventually break something....

yeah i love water and well i gotta pay too being 17 working part time making minimum wage dosent help much but yeah some times its fun risking it all heres a vid of my truck :

and my dumb friend locking his motor i just pulled it last night!!LOL

nice, i guess i'm a mad man for going as deep as i did! looks like fun and i know about the money situation, i'm 16.
